Privacy Policy

Data collection

Patchbay does not collect personal data. The app has no developer-operated account, analytics, advertising, tracking, or cloud service. Patchbay does not send audio, usage information, device identifiers, contacts, location, or diagnostic information to Matthew Looi.

Apple may process App Store purchases, downloads, and diagnostics under Apple’s own privacy policies. That processing is not controlled by Patchbay.

Screen and audio capture

To receive audio from another app, Patchbay uses Apple’s system sharing interface. iOS displays a consent prompt before capture starts.

Patchbay requests the system audio associated with the selected display. It does not request microphone access, receive screen images, save screen video, or transmit captured audio to the developer. Audio is processed temporarily in memory and routed to the Audio Unit selected by the user. Patchbay discards its temporary audio buffers as the session progresses and when capture ends.

Some sources, including protected content, may prevent audio capture or provide silence.

Third-party Audio Units

Patchbay can host compatible Audio Unit extensions installed by the user. A selected Audio Unit runs inside Patchbay and may record, save, or otherwise process audio when the user directs it to do so. That extension is supplied by another developer and is governed by its own privacy policy and controls. Patchbay does not receive data that the extension independently sends to its developer.

Storage and retention

Patchbay does not maintain a developer-controlled database or server and does not retain personal data. Any sample, preset, or project saved by a hosted Audio Unit is stored and managed by that Audio Unit according to its own behavior.

Children’s privacy

Patchbay is not designed to collect information from children, and it does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Patchbay’s features or legal obligations change. The updated policy will be posted here with a new effective date.
